Jewish Heritage Festival

Congregation Hesed Shel Emet in Pottstown, PA presents its 2nd Annual Jewish Heritage Festival – Sunday, May 22, 2016 from 11 am – 5 pm.  The Festival features kosher favorites such as brisket, corned beef, hot dogs, knishes etc.  We also offer dairy favorites such as kugel, lox and bagels, and blintzes.

Admission and parking are free. Enjoy entertainment for kids by Music Monkey Jungle, and for all ages – back by popular demand – Klezmer with Class.  Rabbi Ira Flax will offer Torah Talks and Jack Wolf will present a history of the Jewish Community of Pottstown.

Vendors and crafters will also be on site, as well as a robust basket raffle, and lots of goodies to take home from our bake sale.

Shabbat and a Show

Congregation Hesed Shel Emet presents “Shabbat and a Show” on Friday, May 13, 2016 for opening night of “Fiddler on the Roof.”

Please join us at Steel River Playhouse for Shabbat Service, followed by the show, and a private Oneg during Intermission.  Steel River Playhouse is located at 245 E. High Street, Pottstown, PA  19464.  The playhouse is fully handicapped accessible.

After the show, there will be a discussion during which director Michael Licata, Rabbi Flax and the cast will answer questions.

Passover Seder & Dinner

Congregation Hesed Shel Emet will host a Passover Seder and Dinner on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 6:30 pm.  This event is open to the public and people of all faiths are encouraged and welcome to attend.

Please purchase tickets before April 17, 2016.

Adults – $25; Kids (5-13) – $18; (under 5) – $5.00  (a nominal fee will be added at checkout.)

Shabbat and “Fiddler” in Pottstown

8-Fiddler-222x300A Pottstown synagogue and a nearby theater are setting the stage, literally, for a combined Friday night Shabbat service and opening night revival of “Fiddler on the Roof” on May 13.
