American Jewish Committee and its Latino Jewish Coalition hosted a Latino Jewish Entrepreneurial Summit at Temple University’s Fox School of Business on May 15th. Established in 2013, the coalition works in a collaborative manner to expand interactions and works in areas, such as immigration reform, economic empowerment, civic engagement and homeland/diaspora relations.

Over 80 participants had the opportunity to attend the sold out Latino Jewish Entrepreneurial Summit and hear from presenter Wayne Kimmel of SeventySix Capital and Keynote Speaker Alan Weisleder. Weisleder, originally from Coast Rica, is the executive vice president of OurCrowd, Israel’s largest venture capital firm.

A panel consisting of Tony Lopez of Azzur Group, Nicole Marquis of HipCity Veg,  and Manuel Trujillo of Swain Techs shared best practices, personal journeys as entrepreneurs and lessons learned along the way.

Kimmel, a lawyer by training, shared his dream of becoming an entrepreneur. Through hard work and networking he achieved that dream. He then invited the participants, “If you have a dream, please pitch it to me. Together, we can make it happen!”
