Barrack U: Lifelong, Hands-On Learning!

Philadelphia’s Jewish community is invited to sample stimulating classes taught by Barrack’s talented faculty members.  On Sunday, December 2, from 1-4 PM, there will be an opportunity to explore current events, Jewish history, spirituality, Israeli poetry, mathematics, art, music, and more.  A panel of distinguished Akiba-Barrack alumni will discuss their cutting edge careers that are shaping the future at home and abroad.

Session I courses include: Yehuda Amichai’s Jerusalem, Human Impact on the Environment: A Hot Topic, Introduction to Rock Drumming, and Proving the Existence of God.

Session II courses include: Fun With Math: Patty Paper Parabolic Play, It’s All Greek To Me: Jews in the Hellenistic Age, Make a Mezzuzah, and The Rabbi and the Ugly Man.

A parallel program for rising high school students will complement Barrack U! courses.
