Sights: Survey Shows Sexiest MP is MOTT

According to Sky News‘s survey, the member of parliament who the British “fancy” the most is Luciana Berger, Labour’s Member of Parliment for Liverpool Wavertree.

According to the Daily Mirror the Labour Party is the Party of the “beautiful people”:

She is one of a dozen Labour lookers in the poll, proving the party’s MPs are red hot compared to the Tories, who are feeling blue with just nine entries in the coveted table. The Lib Dems have proved a turn-off with voters, with just three making the chart.

She is an official “Member Of The Tribe”: rising from the world of Jewish student politics. While studying at the University of Birmingham (Birkbeck), she was a National Executive Committee member of the National Union of Student, and co-chaired the NUS Anti-Racism/Anti-Fascism Campaign, but then resigned from the Executive Committee in April 2005 because of “continued apathy within the NUS to Jewish student suffering”. She was also director of Labour Friends of Israel and is a committee member of the London Jewish Forum.

According to the Jewish Chronicle Online:

She was described by the American website Jewlicious as a “hottie”, when her name was linked to Euan Blair, the son of the former Prime Minister.

Sounds: A Shabbat in Liverpool

Shabbat Prayers and Sounds to Fab Tunes

The Jewish Telegraphic Agency asks “When is it kosher to listen to the Beatles on the Sabbath?”

When your chazan adapts the Kabbalat Shabbat Friday night service to the melodies of John Lennon and Paul McCartney.

The band, whose albums consist mostly of Jewish-themed parodies of current pop songs, set classic Friday night and Saturday prayers like “Shalom Aleichem” and “Ein Keloheinu” to the tune of Beatles songs like “With a Little Help from My Friends” and “Let it Be.”

Listen to samples from Shlock Rock’s “A Shabbat in Liverpool” (original Beatles music is indicated in parentheses):
