Hillary Clinton was busy yesterday preparing for her final debate with Donald Trump (this evening in Las Vegas), but the campaign was far from idle with her surrogates mobilizing voters in swing states (and red states which have turned purple like Arizona and Texas).

Her husband Bill Clinton headlined a rally at Montgomery Community College in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania and then visited campaign offices in Ardmore and Bristol to speak to the volunteers in this swing state who will be key to electing Hillary as the 45th President of the United States.

As rumors spread that Bill Clinton was in town, the Ardmore campaign office at Lancaster and Cricket Avenues was packed shoulder to shoulder in the unseasonable 84° heat. Bill Clinton drew distinctions between his wife’s Stronger Together campaign with Trump’s divisive politics where victory by some can only be had at the expense of others. He lauded his wife’s ability to get bipartisan support for her major initiatives such as the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) which enjoyed the support of about two-thirds of both chambers of Congress.

Natalie Portman Campaigns in Lower Merion

Natalie Portman headlines voter registration drive at Clinton campaign office in Ardmore.

Natalie Portman.

The award-winning actress Natalie Portman made several stops in the Philadelphia region as she campaigned for Hillary Clinton, on Monday, October 10th. At the Lower Merion-Narberth Democratic Committee headquarters in Ardmore, a large crowd gathered, including State Senator Daylin Leach and his daughter Brennan.

I got to ask the last question and Ms. Portman gave an insightful and extensive answer.
Earlier in the day Mike Pence, Trump’s running-mate, had held a press conference, avowing his acceptance of Jesus. He pressed his Christian faith, and accepting grace and forgiveness. He called Trump’s “apology” sincere.

I asked Ms. Portman, on the eve of Kol Nidre and Yom Kippur, what she felt about Pence’s pulling the “Jesus Card.” Ms. Portman looked pained as she rattled off all the different ethnic groups and women whom Trump has offended, insulted and threatened. She does not believe religion should be used as a club to beat anyone or any group. And she is really looking forward to having Hillary Clinton as the first woman President.

At another area event, also on October 10th, Ms. Portman’s talk was video recorded. She started by talking about being a mother. (She did not let her five year old son watch the Clinton-Trump debate Sunday night!) Then she reminded audience members that Tuesday, Oct. 11th is the last day to register to vote in Pennsylvania. She ended with questions from the audience. Video credit: Splash News and the Daily Mail.

JEWMONGOUS Hanukkah Concert At Milkboy Coffee

Would you like to do something hip for Hanukkah this year?  Call up your JDate and reserve your seats for December 22nd at the Milkboy Coffee in Ardmore. JEWMONGOUS is in town for only one performance of his comedy song concert.

Who is JEWMONGOUS?  Sean Altman was part of the Rockapella group that composed the famous Emmy-winning song for the PBS-TV series, Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego?  In 1997, he embarked on his solo career, naming his newest incarnation JEWMONGOUS.

More after the jump.
Mr. Altman tells me, “Christmas (a.k.a. “the Christian Chanukah”) is upon us and JEWMONGOUS is gonna party like it’s the 1999th-iversary of Christ’s bar mitzvah.  Featuring his new song “Jesus Christ’s Bar Mitzvah” and original favorites like “The Least Jewy Jew In Jewville”, “They Tried To Kill Us (We Survived, Let’s Eat)” and “Phantom Foreskin.”

Sean Altman concludes by telling me, “JEWMONGOUS welcomes all believers and heathens but is not appropriate for children unless you’re training them to be sailors.”
