MY DEAR CHILDREN

November 14 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

$7 - $15

Nearly 80 percent of the world’s Jewry can be traced back to the place called the “Pale of Settlement,” the territories of the Russian Empire designated to Jews for permanent settlement between 1791 and 1917. It was in the Pale that Feiga Shamis, a Jewish mother of 12, handwrote a 174-page letter to her children explaining why she had made the devastating choice she did to ensure their survival. It was in the Pale that Feiga witnessed the anti-Jewish pogroms that followed the Russian Revolution of 1917, the mass murder of tens of thousands of Jews, and then lived to tell about it.

MY DEAR CHILDREN is the first in-depth, scholarly documentary about the tragedy of pogroms told through the powerful and heartrending words of one of its key witnesses.

*Directors LeeAnn Dance and Cliff Hackel are scheduled to attend!
